About The School
Based in Radnor, Ohio and Felton, California, the SRS offers instruction in European and Oriental blade arts, as well as other weapons and bare-hand styles. We emphasise practical, ethical combat skills, studied in an informal atmosphere of honour and mutual respect.
Founded in 1996, the school’s goal is to assist students of the martial arts, armed or unarmed, in developing their own individual styles, founded on basic universal principles, and tested against both similar and different styles of combat. Historical background of the weapons, as well as international traditions of honour and martial ethics, are discussed. Full-speed sparring, with contact-safe practise weapons, is alternated with slow work and solo drills using steel or wood.
Group classes and private instruction are offered in more than twenty traditional weapons from around the world, as well as unarmed self-defense techniques.
